The resort at Cherating was extensively refurbished in April 2004. It is a self-contained tropical paradise fronting 4 kms of pristine beach on the South China Sea. Set amongst 200 acres in one of Malaysia's most beautiful stretches of coastline, the village is surrounded by one of the last coastal areas of unspoilt jungle.
The 80 hectares of luxuriant gardens are filled with brightly coloured birds, enormous rare butterflies and breathtakingly beautiful tropical flowers. Lively chattering monkeys complete the jungle picture and provide guests with a truly unusual diversion. The architecture is traditional in terms of its concept and design and most of the houses are wooden and on piles.

Club Med Cherating is set on the east coast of Malaysia, 50 km from Kuantan and only 6 hours by road from Singapore. Club Med's Cherating packages use all Malaysia Airlines flights from Australia. Flights normally connect in Kuala Lumpur for the 40 minute flight to Kuantan, otherwise a transit night at the Pan Pacific Kuala Lumpur Airport hotel is required.

Families are welcome. One of the great things about Club Med Cherating is that children have their own paddling pool and playground facilities.
Their kids' clubs cater for 2 to 17 year olds and their Club Med Baby Welcome package provides everything for your baby's comfort. Their "New Concept" Pyjamas Club provides evening care for 2 to 8 year olds but must be pre-booked. Connecting rooms can be pre-booked for families with children.
