Dear Gayle we are now back from our
Pacific Sun cruise. I must say it was fantastic, apart from me being sea sick and getting a cold the last three days of the cruise.
My husband and children did not want to get off the ship, they all said it was the best holiday they every had, and mind you we've had quite a few holidays. Everything was so well organised, from food, to entertainment, to room service to children's club. I think one needs a holiday to recover after being on the cruise, because there is so much to do, that it's impossible to do everything.
I would definitely recommend the cruise to everyone, no matter of their age. We meet so many wonderful people on the cruise, the crew were so wonderful and helpful, we all felt like royalty because they treated us so well. It was hard coming back to everyday life. Most probably if we go again I would like to stay in a suite, because the rooms can be a little claustrophobic.
I have nothing but utmost praise and respect for everyone who works on the ship. Nothing was too much trouble for any one everybody was very approachable and friendly. The captain was nice and made an effort to take photos with the guests. They had a wonderful crew of photographers who constantly took photos of people at various ports and also during formal nights. All photos were displayed for public viewing and people we able to purchase their photos without any sort of pressure. We have walked away with some lovely family photos.

Hi Lynne, Had a great time on the
Pacific Sun cruise although the first two days were fairly rough the rest of the trip went smooth.
Wala was the most magnificent place but
Noumea on a Sunday leaves a lot to be desired. The weather was really good as was the food.
We did not understand how cigarettes could be duty free where alcohol was expensive. $4.50 for a can of beer seemed over the top. The cabin, food and beverage staff were all very friendly and helped immensely in making the trip.

Hi Lynette, We had a fantastic time on our
Pacific Sun Christmas Cruise - I think we are now "hooked" and are already saving madly and thinking about another one sometime in the future! I can hardly fault anything on the cruise - I suppose the only thing we didn't realise was that this was a real "family" cruise and that 25% of the passengers were children!
However, this did not impact on our enjoyment at all - we managed to totally relax. And somehow or other, we managed to get assigned to the Captains table for dinner - this was a huge surprise - and he and his wife were lovely people! BTW - we were really lucky with our "Ships Option" cabin, as we managed to get allocated mid-ship on Level 7 (Empress Deck) which we were very happy about.
I would also like to express my appreciation for the professional manner in which you took care of our booking. You honestly made it very easy for us and everything happened just as you said it would! Hi Lynette, We had a great time again on the
Pacific Sun. Better than the previous cruise in that we knew the workings better, but for the first few days we kept going back to the room we had on our last trip? My husband liked the fact that you can now have hamburgers and pizza at lunch time free!!
We enjoyed the Petite Train Tour but otherwise didn't think much of
Noumea. Ouvea was lovely, beautiful beach and clear blue water. Enjoyed
Vila friendly people and great priced Duty Free Booze don't know about anything else, didn't have much time to look as we did two tours, which we enjoyed especially the one on the Lagoon, I think Vila would be a nice spot for relaxing break.
Next stop
Wala, nice little island, did the walking tour around the island and had a lovely swim. Then we had a few days rest! before having to go back to the rat race. Really looking forward to our Asia cruise in March on the

Hi Sali, We had a fantastic time on the
Pacific Sun cruise. I was sick the first day and had to get the injection from the doctor but was fine for the rest of the cruise. We all loved every minute of it.
The kids club was fantastic and the kids had a great time. My only suggestion you may keep in mind for any other bookings for families is that the kids dinner is 5.00 pm and our sitting wasn't until 8.30 pm. There was another sitting at 8.00 which would have been better as we were sometimes rushing our dinner to pick them up at 10.00. There was 4 different dinner sittings, 6.00, 6.15, 8.00 and 8.30. Hi Trisha We were meaning to let you know ... .... just how fantastic our
Pacific Sun cruise was. To begin with, your advice about travelling mid-ships [and your selection of that position on the ship for our cabin] was excellent. It seemed to us that the people who complained of sea sickness were situated at the front or the back of the ship. Our own experience was of a smooth, untroubled, excellent ride.
Thank you also for the upgrade to Empress deck. We very much appreciated it. The cabin was clean, spacious and comfortable and everything that we had hoped for. The steward service was splendid. The service we received from you was excellent. When there was a problem (the late delivery of advice about the trip before sailing) you quickly and competently overcame the problem and the upgrade well made up for any inconvenience we had. The early dinner sitting well suited our personalities and we were able to take in some evening entertainment after dinner.
Thankfully, it was unnecessary to take advantage of the travel insurance that you sold us, but it was reassuring to know that we had it if the occasion had arisen. The shore content in each stop was thoroughly enjoyable and Sue and I took advantage of all of it, enjoying a few of the available tours. All the tours that we did were excellent. It would be hard to find any balancing adverse comments to make.
Perhaps the people on the shore desk on the ship could have been more helpful but once the tours were arranged, we did not have to have dealings with them. The maitre de asked us to change from our original table in one of the dining rooms to accommodate a large family that wanted to be seated together. The minor inconvenience to us was more than compensated for by a free bottle of wine and a very thoughtful selection of new dining companions for us in the new dining room. Pacific Sun holiday, Betty and I, had an awesome time This was my shortest time overseas and I tell you, it was so jammed pack with fun, we met people that had been on cruises, some 36 times even 52 times around the world... amazing!!
We met some of the nicest people, admittedly a lot of the guests were over 65 years, but everyone is such on a high there really is no age barrier. But we also met a lot of people our age and we had a blast!!!!!!
The Cruise Director, Shona Ballantyne and the Deputy Cruise Director, Demo Simis were FANTASTIC!!!! And made everyone's trip on board most memorable!!! Hi Gayle, The trip was just fantastic!! We loved it and would highly recommended the "
Pacific Sun " to anyone who want a fun time. If you are after five star then this is not the ship for you. Just great fun, beautiful staff, always happy to help and the theme nights are something else.
