To celebrate the re-opening of its Longhouse Restaurant, following a major refurbishment, Double Island Resort is available for private hire for up to 40 guests at half the normal price. Australia's most exclusive island retreat has provided a haven for international VIPs and celebrities due to its total privacy, remaining strictly the home to only one group at any given time.
With extensive facilities available it's also the perfect location for conferences, incentive programmes, weddings, private functions and parties. The spacious Games Room converts easily into an ideal conference room for up to 40 delegates. The indoor cinema accommodates up to 20 for audiovisual presentations, and the library serves as a break-out room for smaller groups. The majestic Long Room restaurant with its high ceiling and open sides offers the perfect venue for a cocktail party, banquet or open-air presentation.
Special events are transformed into truly memorable occasions on the island, with their management team, and/or your own event organiser, developing a unique program to suit any requirement. Getting There
Situated just 1½km off-shore from Palm Cove, 20km north of Cairns Airport which is serviced by regular flights from all major Australian capital cities. Shuttle or charter coaches & private chauffeured limousines are available for transportation between Cairns and Palm Cove.
The Double Island catamaran provides a 10 mins transfer for guests between Double Island and the Palm Cove pier as required. Heli transfers from Cairns Airport to the main beach of Double Island take 5 mins. Boats can be moored off Double Island or docked at Half Moon Bay Marina, Yorkeys Knob, which is a short 15 mins drive from Palm Cove.
Golf
Just 10 mins away by launch is the Novotel Palm Cove Country Club offering a challenging 9 hole golf course with 18 tees. It measures 5067 metres and consists of four par 3's, twelve par 4's and two par 5's. Equipment hire and electric golf cart hire are also available. World championship courses at Port Douglas are 15 mins by heli and an hour by launch & private car or shuttle coach.
Children
Double Island Resort provides babysitting services, a wading pool, water slide, and three different children's facilities providing Day Care & Kid's Club activities from ages 6 weeks to 16 years.
